Just So Festival is delighted to announce that it has been named ‘Best Family Festival’ by Green Parent magazine in its Family Festival Guide 2011. The award was voted for by Green Parent’s readers and the family arts festival – based in the Barnswood, Staffordshire and taking place from the 19th-21st August – beat off competition from other high profile festivals such as Glastonbury, Solfest and Off the Tracks to be crowned the winner of this year’s award.

Green Parent Magazine is the UK’s leading green lifestyle and natural parenting magazine, whose insightful journalism on such diverse topics such as home-education, ethical fashion, attachment parenting and organic gardening have made it one of the most unique and well respected parenting publications on the newsstands.

One Green Parent reader whose vote contributed to Just So Festival being crowned this year’s winner said of the Staffordshire festival, “The highlight of my summer. In fact, the best festival I have ever been to – my daughter and I are so excited about going back, we can’t wait!”

Commenting on Just So Festival winning the award for Best Family Festival 2011, the editors of Green Parent commented, “Our readers love the relaxed vibe and the safe, inclusive environment. Babies are exceptionally well catered for, with baby bath time taking place nightly, massage classes changing areas and of course the Breastfeeding Boudoir. The family run event has been exceptionally well thought out and even boasts a ‘lost children’ service aiming to reunite any stray offspring with their parents as quickly as possible.”

Just So Festival Director, Sarah Bird said “We are absolutely thrilled to be given this award by the readers of Green Parent Magazine. We have almost doubled our programme of events for this year’s festival and it’s shaping up to be even bigger and better than last year, which was enjoyed by nearly 3000 parents and children from around the UK. We aim to make the arts more accessible and to introduce families to new and creative ways to engage in the arts together and we are delighted that that has chimed with parents who want to share these unique experiences with their children in this wonderful woodland landscape.”
